Budweiser APAC Releases First “Barley-Based Water-Based Garment Leather” to Coincide with RISE UP 2022 Sustainable Fashion Challenge

Budweiser APAC, in collaboration with DOW and Vegatex, jointly developed and launched the world’s first water-based barley-based apparel leather at the 2022 RISE UP Sustainable Fashion Challenge on October 14, 2022, and launched the product during Shanghai Fashion Week Spring and Summer 2023.

Organized by sustainable fashion innovation platform RISE, the competition brought together the 108 designers from seven countries and the top 52 fashion art schools from around the world. Budweiser APAC Chief Human Resources Officer Linda Qian, Budweiser APAC Vice President of Sustainability and Sourcing Jan Clysner, and Budweiser China Vice President of Corporate Affairs Konnie Zhu were all invited to the event in Shanghai.
