Cambodian exports of garments, footwear and travel goods top $10 billion in first nine months

The garment, footwear and travel goods industry is Cambodia’s largest foreign exchange earner, accounting for nearly 60 percent of the kingdom’s total export value, the report added.

Under Secretary of State and Department of Commerce spokesman Penn Sovicheat attributed the growth to the full resumption of socio-economic activities in the country, trade preferences and increased global demand as the global COVID-19 pandemic has subsided.

“The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) free trade agreement, which entered into force earlier this year, has also contributed to this significant growth,” he told Xinhua.
